1)Mining bits are tools that are used to bore into rock and earth. They are often used for mining, quarrying, tunneling, construction, and in geological exploration applications. They are also suitable for the drilling of blasting holes, and with both soft and hard rock materials.
2)Mining bits often feature a hollow body with multiple wings extending outward; each wing of the bit often contains multiple cutting teeth as well. The outermost teeth describe a gauge row diameter for the hole that is to be formed. These teeth are designed to angle outward so that they are facing away from the axis of the mining bit and lateral edge of the bit wing. The inner row of teeth on a mining bit describe a smaller cutting diameter and features teeth that are intermittently placed between the outermost and innermost teeth on each wing; this allows the inner teeth to be easily driven out for replacement as needed.
3)The back row of teeth on a mining bit can be similarly replaced through the open back of its socket. The central passage of the bit allows air, coolant, or lubricant to pass through and resists clogging or plugging from occurring during hole drilling applications.
