General Product Information
These hair thinning shears is one of the very most important tools used by hair dressers; and many people find this far more important than the normal scissors or electric shavers/clippers.
There are two razor edge blades. One of the blades have 19 sets of 3mm concave tipped (molar) cutting teeth spaced at an equal distance of 2mm apart from each other along the blade.
The molar teeth are far better than other 'cheap' hair thinning scissors with flat tipped (Incisor) teeth, because the molar teeth on these scissors ensure that an approximately even amount of hair is trapped and cut between the molar teeth. (on other thinning scissors, the cut may not be even as hair may flow off into the gaps at different sections.)
When the scissors are closed (making a cut), the hair that falls between the spaces don't get cut, while hair that falls between the molar teeth get cut. Therefore, with every cut, the density of hair between the blades is evenly reduced by approximately 25% to 50% on average, as not all hair ends up getting caught between the curved molar teeth.
After about 5-6 cuts at the same location, all hair is usually cut off (compared to just one snip / cut with traditional scissors).
This benefits the hair stylist as the progressive thinning / cutting gives incredible 'depth control' over the hair; not just its length, but its thickness.
